Find the perfect forever children’s gift for any occasion
Here at Ethiqana, we’re passionate about handmade and sustainable products and that’s why we always get excited talking about our range of non-toxic, traiditonal wooden toys.
These toys are made using techniques that have been passed down from one generation to the next, for over 200 years.
Our eco-friendly games and toys are handcrafted using sustainably-grown wood and coloured with natural non-toxic dyes.
The dyes are derived from plant-based sources such as turmeric, indigo, acacia tree extract etc. These natural dyes are mixed with lac, which is a natural resin. The dyes are then applied using heat friction. With many mass-produced toys they are painted on, which may have nasties on – unlike our non-toxic products!
These toys are very durable and resistant to chipping, so they can be passed down to the next generation or another family.
Our traditional wooden toys are 100% natural, so there are no harmful chemical dyes or plastic involved in the making of our toys. As all parents know, there isn’t much that escapes the mouths of toddlers and young children. You can rest assured that these toys make the best playmates for your little treasure.
These non-toxic wooden toys to buy have bright colours and are tactile, which encourages children to use their imagination and creativity, rather than simply giving them a toy that makes noises and they soon get bored of it. Our aim is to bring to you high quality handmade wooden toys. That is why we are proud to present the creations of artisans from the world famous “Land of Toys” – Channapatna in the south of India.
Our production partner is a member of the World Fair Trade Organisation and a sustainable livelihoods initiative. They assist artisans and worker co-operatives to develop and market their products. They also support workers’ skill development and ensure access to health and education facilities.
All of these toys comply with international toy safety standards – CE and ASTM.
